HISTORY OF FOOTBALL IN NEPAL

the entry of football game in nepal was during the period of rana's  in 1921.this game was introduced by the young people of nepal who have learnt this game from other countries. however, it was believed that narayan narshingh rana and chandrajung thapa was the first person who introduced the football in nepal.many rana's used to play football in their own home ground. they use to play football by making deal that who wins the loser team should give some amount of gold to each member of the team.they use to play football on the bet of 100\200 castrated goat also.
                           later in 1934 NRT 11, jawalakhel 11,mahabir 11 etc were established.in 1934 first tournament in institutional way was conducted.in this tournament jawalakhel 11 won the tournament  and was rewarded by prices. although the tournament was in a grand sucess many people love football government decide to ban the game . although the game was banded by government legally many youths  were playing this game inside and outside of the palace in secret way.later  king  decided to play this game and he ordered to construct the stadium in 1953.the  stadium was given the name "dasarath stadium " it is the first stadium of nepal.after the construction of dasarath stadium regularly matches were played in there since from 1959.later in dasarath stadium match between the king11 and primeminister 11 were held. in this game late king mahendra play the game through king11 and first elected prime minister bp koirala play the game through primeminister11 .later different tournament were organized in the country in different state.later in 1951 ANFA was establish inorder to maintain good system in football and achive good football skills in nepal.later in 1970 neapl become the member of FIFA  and nepal starts to play different international game since from 1970.
                                           therefore nepal players have been able to occupy place in international football standard .
